37-Piece Gien Faience Corne D'Abondance Dinnerware, Midcentury

37-piece Gien Faience Corne D'Abondance dinnerware (Horn of Plenty or Abundance), circa 1950. French dinnerware decorated in French blue, burgundy, yellow and dark green with abundant cornucopias, Asian inspired flower branches, Chinese pheasants and insects. Each piece has scalloped boarders with painted blue and burgundy edging. The soup tureen and the gravy boat have blue trimmed scrolled shell handles and knobs. Each is marked "Gien France" except the covered pot with green knob. N.P. Trent has been a respected name in antiques for over 30 years with a large collection of period furniture, art and decorative accessories. 20 dinner plates measure 10" diameter x 1" height 10 shallow soup bowls 10" diameter x 1.25" height 1 small oblong serving dish 10.5" L x 5.25" W x 1.5" H 1 large oblong platter 16" L x 10.5" W x 1.75" H 1 soup tureen with lid 12" L x 10.5" W x 9.5" H 1 round platter 12.25" diameter x 1.25" height 1 sauce boat with attached base plate 10" L x 8.25" W x 4.25" H 1 large footed serving bowl 12" diameter x 5.25" height 1 covered pot 5" diameter x 6.25" height (unmarked).
