A fine antique French faïence chamberstick candle holder. By Charles-François Fourmaintraux-Courquin. The star shaped candle holder and under plate decorated in yellow, green, blue, and red underglaze decoration on a white ground. Marked to the base. Simply a wonderful Desvres faience chamberstick! Date: Mid to Late 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is some typical glaze loss and fritting to the top of the handle, edges, and high points. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Charles-François Fourmaintraux-Courquin Marks: Marked to the base with the maker's mark of Charles-François Fourmaintraux-Courquin Measurements: Height: ca. 2 3/8 in. Width: ca. 6 1/8 in.
