About the Item
A charming Dutch Delft ginger jar of lobed form, with chinoiserie design in polychrome tin glazed enamels, 18th century, Holland.
The ginger jar (missing its lid), of globular form with a lobed body. The body decorated in fanciful polychrome tin glazes of green, blue, red and yellow. The main design consists of large cartouches with a chinoiserie design of a robed figure in a fenced garden setting, with birds, plants and flowers, and pagoda in the background. The cartouches reserved against a green ground with scrolling designs.
The underside with a blue "JPK" mark.
