Antique German Porcelain Twelve Piece Dessert Service

About the Item

Antique German porcelain twelve piece dessert service German, c. 1880 Measures: Seven flat plates: Height 2cm, diameter 22cm Four raised plates: Height 6.5cm, diameter 25cm Larger raised plate: Height 10cm, diameter 25cm This fine, regal dessert service comprises five presentation plates, of which one is larger, which stand upright on four feet, as well as seven flat plates. All of the plates are painted to their centre with 17th Century style scenes of horseback battles. The plates each feature a dark blue pierced border with gilt patterned ornamentation. Each of the plates bear a porcelain mark to the underside.

Regency-period Coalport Porcelain service is of the finest quality in terms of the porcelain itself and the decoration, each shape is particularly well designed with a distinctive shape.
