WHY WE LOVE IT: The colors! The scene! We are pleased to offer this pair of English dishes inspired by Imari decoration showing a scene painted in cobalt blue, red and gold. We see a lady walking in a garden with her young son. The branches of a prunus tree appear on her left. A butterfly catches the attention of the young boy. While a peacock floats overhead. The scene evokes a feeling of serenity. The decoration has lush gilt throughout. The border of the dish is painted with a chain of blue leaves and red flowers which complements the center scene. This pair of dishes were made in England by Davenport, circa 1820. The reverse of each dish is marked "Davenport" above the Davenport anchor symbol. Dimensions: 7.75 inches diameter Condition: Excellent Price: $580 for the pair.
