Set of 12 Gilt-Rimmed Dessert Plates and Cake Stand with Scottish Scenes

About the Item

Set of 12 gilt-rimmed dessert plates and cake stand with Scottish scenes. The scalloped-edge and gilt plates with stand feature hand-painted Scottish scenes with various famous castles and their locations on reverse; perfect for a Burns Night celebration. Attributed to Copeland and Garrett, England, circa 1830s. Dimension: 8.75" diameter plate, serving plate 8.75" diameter x 2.5" H. Hand-painted in red on back of plates: Stockley Beck, Loch Leven Castle, Black Rock Castle, Old Weir Bridge, Linlithgow Palace, Bothwell Castle, Windermere, Ross Castle, Hawes Water Westmorland, View on the Rheam, Loch Ard, and Winderemer from low wood. Cake stand is Buttermere Cumberland.
