French glass Meisenthal bluegreen cameo and Martelé vase -Désiré Christian c1890
About the Item
Fabulous large early Désiré Christian design Cameo and Martelé flask Vase - signed for both Christian and Miesenthal (see last image) c 1890, in blue and green over clear, selectively Martelé (a technique making the glass look like it has a series of small circular hammered areas) with a overall cameo design of daisy-like flowers.
Désiré Christian worked closely with Emile Galle and through-out the late 1880s and early 1890s made glass for Galle at the Meisenthal and other factories (See the book 'The Glass of Désiré Christian Ghost for Galle' by Jules Traub 1978)
