Small Loetz Candia Martele Nautilus Glass Vase c1903 -Bohemian
About the Item
Iconic Loetz small glass vase in Candia Martele with gold glass rim and four long twisted gold hot applied tadpoles trailing down the sides - a striking and distinctive design called Nautilus that was created by Loetz in 1903. Nautilus is one of the most popular Loetz patterns and it is often considered that no Loetz Collection can be complete without an example of this pattern.
Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers.
