Small Loetz Orange Astglas Glass Vase c1899 -Bohemian
About the Item
Unusual Loetz orange two handled vase in the documented pattern called Astglas. This version of the pattern Astglas has a surface covered with orange coloured craquelure of densely fused crushed glass and occasionally adorned with Silberiris coral like applications (aka Corallenaste) -the pattern is quite rare. This vase additionally has two clear handles and is a classic shape for this pattern
Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers.
