This vessel is a Murano glass masterpiece realized by maestro Bruno Fornasier for Fratelli Toso glass factory. It is realized by using a complicated technique which requires great manufacturer skills. The technique used is called "Zanfirico" which involves creating transparent glass canes containing straight or intertwined colored threads. To create zanfirico glassmakers start by gathering and melting different colored glass rods or canes. These canes are carefully heated and stretched to form long, thin threads. The threads are then arranged in a specific pattern, either straight or intertwined, and fused together by reheating the canes. The resulting glass cane contains multiple colors twisted or woven together. The creation of canne intrecciate requires skill and precision, as the glassmakers need to carefully control the temperature and stretching of the canes to achieve the desired pattern. It is a technique that adds complexity and beauty to Murano glass and is highly valued in the art of glassmaking. This piece is featured also by using canes...
