About the Item

Super rare Rene Lalique Electric Blue glass Poisson Cachet first designed 1913 -This example is from the early 1920s. One of the most famous pieces designed and produced by Rene Lalique -and still in production until recently - However the very early examples like this one are quite different from the production post 1930 (and changed again c 1950). The Poisson Cachet (seal) is in the Marcilhac catalogue Ref 182. Early versions can be most easily distinguished at the top fin, middle fin, mouth and base are all different from later versions. Examples from the 1910s are usually clear or pale amber and stained in colours - The best examples are from the 1920s (like this example) when the bright colours were introduced. This example is signed Lalique (impressed) and then France in script below.
