About the Item
A stunning and fully documented Loetz Phaenomen Vase. This example is documented Phaenomen pattern PG 6893 and the colouring is called Crete (green) - The pattern PG 6893 has threads that are drawn into a wave pattern in a mould (often a 16 part ribbed mold) giving the pattern its distinct ribbed appearance -it is also one of the earliest Phaenomen patterns and the one done in most ground colours
Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers. The most sought after examples of the Phaenomen range -as this example is -as well as being the finest pieces they were made in exceptionally small quantities with rarely more than 30 examples being made of a particular model.
