Rare Rene Lalique Blue Stained Glass Peches Menu Holder Signed c 1924

About the Item

A rare original blue and green stain clear glass Rene Lalique signed Peches Menu Holder (peaches)- Ref Marcilhac 3504 designed in 1924 - This menu holder -one of a series of fruit baskets was designed to have it's menu dropped into a slot cut in the top - it comes from the days of small French Cafés with single fixed menus for each day (prix fix). Very unusually this menu holder is stained with two colours blue and a blue green for the basket -these menu holders are very difficult to photograph -due to all the reflective surfaces. Rene Lalique was possibly the most famous of all glass makers -the most collectable pieces by him are those produced during his lifetime (ie pre 1945), most of these are signed, like this piece, R Lalique - just visible on the base see the third picture towards the bottom.

Rare Rene Lalique clear glass Perles Wall panel 1930 -signed
By René Lalique
Located in Worcester Park, GB
Rare Rene Lalique clear glass square Perles Wall panel 1930. As well as the usual Vases, Bowls, tableware, car mascots etc Rene Lalique made Architectural Installations -some of the more famous of these went into Churches, but he designed a wide range of glass panels for rooms, walls, tables etc. These were not for sale as individual items and could only be acquired as part of an installation. This is a Documented Carres Perles pattern 'Cloison' or wall panel. The fact that it is an unused single panel and signed (they were usually not signed) suggests this was a salesman's sample. It is Documented in the Lalique book...
