About the Item

A particularly fine pair of knife boxes with bands on the mahogany slanted hinged lids and shaped fronts. The interior with inlaid satinwood star motifs inside the lids, carved slots for different knives with thin satinwood string inlaid frames. The case with metal loops for lifting the lids and escutcheons (lacking keys). Green felt bases. Dimensions: Each Knife Box measures Height 14 1/2", Depth 11", Width 9" Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age and use include stable age cracks across the backs, expected to the fine bands, and one box with stable cracks along the inside front joinery, lacking key, small chip above one escutcheon. All the aforementioned is for accuracy as the Knife Box Pair present exceptionally well.
