Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Pitcher 8

About the Item

A highly uncommon Georg Jensen sterling silver pitcher, featuring design #8b by Georg Jensen dating back to around 1912. This petite jug showcases an exceptionally rare design, likely intended as a wine jug but versatile enough to serve as a water pitcher. Reflecting an Art Nouveau aesthetic with influences from the earlier Arts and Crafts period, it distinguishes itself from typical water pitchers by adopting an oval shape—clear evidence of meticulous hand craftsmanship rather than mass production by machinery. The base is adorned with a refined floral motif, while the slightly hammered oval body connects to a hand-forged neck. The thick, handcrafted spout exhibits a delicately applied edge and links to the hollow handle, featuring a charming button-like floral design. A genuine collector’s item, this piece is rarely encountered, marking a noteworthy addition, as it is the first of its kind in our possession. Dimensions: Measures 6 3/4″ (18cm) in height x 5″ ((12 cm) wide including the handle. Weight: 335 grams (11.81 oz.) Volume: 500 ml (1/2 liter) 16 oz. Hallmarks: Early 1920s Georg Jensen hallmarks All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
