Jug or Pitcher by Ugo Zaccagnini

About the Item

This hand made pottery jug by Ugo Zaccagnini of Florence stands 214 mm (8.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 122 mm (4.75 inches). All aspects of the decoration feature an incised pattern which was then coloured. It is what could be described as rustic Art Deco. It is a very tactile and textural piece in both the plain and decorated areas. The condition is very good apart from a few very small chips to the rim, base and spout which do not detract from it at all. What looks like a crack to the spout is actually an incised line. It dates from the early 1930's.
