Longpark Large & Rare Art Deco Hand Painted Exhibition Art Pottery Jug
About the Item
A stunning and large Longpark Torquay hand painted art pottery jug, believed to be an exhibition piece dating from the 1920’s. The red terracotta clay jug is heavily made and of large bulbous form with scroll and linear patterning painted in colored enamels on a light grey and mottled blue painted ground. The heavily made jug stands on a flat natural glazed round base with a round funnel shaped neck and large pinch formed pouring spout with a short thickly formed pouring handle applied to the neck and upper body of the vase. The jug has black printed makers marks to the base along with unusual, printed Managing Directors names FREDERICK H. BLACKLER. ROBERT H. SKINNER and GEORGE W. BOND.

In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
