Ruthanne Tudball Soda Glazed Studio Pottery Jug

About the Item

An very stylish and impressive studio pottery jug decorated in soda glazes by renowned British potter Ruthanne Amelia Tubdball and dating from the latter 20th century. The heavily hand crafted jug stands raised on three small feet applied with shell motifs and has a twisted narrowing tall body with ribbed designs and a large strap shaped handle applied to the side and pinched to the top rolled rim and with an unusual folded spout again pinched to the rim. The jug is decorated in bright orange soda glazes splashed with elements of yellow and applied over a light grey glazed ground. The jug has an impressed artist seal mark to the lower edge. Provenance: from the collection of a private gentleman and originating from the UK art market. In good overall condition.
