Jane Hamlyn Studio Pottery Salt Glazed Jug 20th Century

About the Item

A stylish and well potted salt glazed stoneware jug by renowned studio potter Jane Hamlyn (British. b.1940) and dating from the 20th century. The jug is of wide round bulbous shape with a waisted body and skirted lower element. It has a large raised pouring spout and small raised looped and ribbed handle with a simple round top opening. The jug has a simple incised pattern applied around the body with the upper body decorated in pale blue/grey glazes with brown glazes incorporating elements of green around the lower body and with green glazes applied to the handle. With an impressed JH seal mark to the lower edge below the handle. Provenance: from the collection of a private gentleman and originating from the UK art market. In good condition.
