About the Item

This antique fish serving set was made by the renowned Limoges factory of France in approximately 1880 in the period Late Victorian style. The set is composed of porcelain and consists of twelve scalloped plates, an extremely large serving platter and a sauce boat. Each of the matching pieces are hand-painted with pastel hues on a white ground and depict fish in a pond with blooming water lilies. The pieces are all accented with heavy gilt borders and banding and each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Limoges, France.
