Vintage Chinese Export Famille Noir, Mille Fleurs Dinner Service

About the Item

This set of assembled plates, bowls, serving items and spoons is a visual feast and a profusion of flowers on black ground and detailed gilt hand painting. The pieces are in very good condition without cracks or chips. There are 12 bowls: 4" x 1.875" 12 bowls: 4" x 1.5"11 bowls: 4.5" x 2.125" 4 bowls: 8" x 3.5", 1 oval platter: 14 x 10". 4 plates: 9". 4 plates: 10". 12 dim sum plates: 6" 12 sauce dishes: 3" x 1" 2 Serving spoons: 8" x 3.5", 12 soup spoons and 1 Covered Casserole dish: 11" x 4.5". The condition of the pieces is generally very good with some occasional and minor use wear. Famille noire is one of the most popular patterns in the famille porcelains. It was first produced in the 18th and 19th centuries.It is one of two main types of enamelwares The first was famille noire. These pieces have a blackish-green background.
