19th Century Pair of 'Porcelain de Paris' Cups and Saucers
About the Item
An extremely elegant pair of 'Porcelaine de Paris' breakfast cups, with matching saucers, dating from the early 19th century.
These sensational cups are decorated with hand-painted countryside scenes, and highlighted with generous bands of hand-applied gilt, their arching, spiralled handles rising high above the delicate rims. Capacious enough to hold a voluminous morning coffee, they would be a very striking addition to any breakfast table.
Please note that, in keeping with their age and usage, there are some minor imperfections to the gilt.
