Antique Pair of Paris Porcelain Gilded Coffee Cups and Saucers

About the Item

An exquisite pair of antique white 'Porcelaine de Paris' teacups and saucers, intricately hand- painted with gilt decoration throughout. Dating from the early 19th century, the cups have characteristically high, curved handles, which, like the cup rims, are fully gilded for an opulent finish. The body of both the cups and saucers are embellished with a latticework of gold, infilled with cherry coloured stars, below which an array of tiny pink rosebuds completes the design. The bases of the cups are stamped with a maker's mark consisting of a stylised 'A'. These cups are in excellent vintage condition, and would attach an authentic touch of vintage glamour to any breakfast table.
