3 Herend of Hungary Porcelain Dishes, Apponyi Pattern in Raspberry & 24ct Gold

About the Item

Presenting for sale a set of three beautiful Herend of Hungary small oval dishes that can be used as Pin Trays, Ring/ Jewellery Dishes, Ash Trays, Bon-Bon Dishes or just as a piece of decorative porcelain on any dressing table or sideboard The Apponyi design was launched in 1931 by the famous Porcelain manufacturers in the Art Deco era interwar period. It was an adaptation of a much earlier design exhibited in 1867 when the main motif, the Peony was painted in the 1930s for the first time at the request of Count Albert Apponyi called the Fleurs des Indes (Flowers of the Indies) pattern, combining the exoticness of the Far East and the feeling of well-balanced bourgeois lifestyle Originally launched in Green, the Raspberry colour was added slightly later. The moderate Apponyi pattern started living a life on its own and became one of the most popular decorative elements of the motif collection of the factory. Often known simply as the Chinese Bouquet in North America as Apponyi was considered hard to pronounce These 3 dishes are in excellent condition - the Raspberry colour and pattern still beautifully vivid and no ware to the 24Ct Gold Plate. No chips or cracks we are happy to report 13.5cm Wide x 9cm Deep x 2cm High. Please ask for more details if required
