Antique Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Sweetmeat Dishes

An antique Qing Dynasty Chinese sweetmeat (confectionery or sweet food) box, dating to the early 20th century, featuring a lacquered and parcel gilt painted box decorated in a stylized naturalistic scene, opening to reveal five-piece polychrome famille rose porcelain sweetmeat dishes. circa 1910 Dimensions: (approx) 4.25" high, 10.25" wide, 10.25" deep, 3.5lbs Provenance: The estate of Mr. Wesley and Mrs. Suzanne LaFever, Beverly Hills, California Condition: Good original antique condition with beautifully aged patina. The case presents with highly desirable heavily worn, naturally distressed finish, having much wear and loss to lacquer. Minor chips to porcelain consistent with age and indicative of use. Nothing that detracts from the display or functionality, but only adds to the antique authenticity, character and overall elegant warmth that can only be acquired over long periods of time.
