Antique Irish Armorial Dishes with the Arms of the Family of Perceval circa 1870

About

An attractive pair of oval dishes with gilded handles, royal blue borders and armorial crests with motto. The crest and motto on these dishes belongs to the Family of Perceval of Temple house, Sligo. Motto: YVERY-Sub CRUCE CANDIDA "Under the Pure White Cross." Crest: Under a Crown A Thistle Erect Leaved PPR. Temple house castle was built in 1181 located near the townland of Ballinacarrow on the outskirts of Ballymote in south County Sligo, Ireland. The Temple House lands were granted to the Knights Templar in 1216. The castle was converted to a domestic residence in 1627. The Perceval family has lived on the lands since 1665. Dimensions: 9 inches x 13 inches x 2 inches deep Condition: Excellent Price: $1500 for the pair
