About

A. Moreau (French 1834-1917) charming scene of this two young children standing next to each other is a recurrent theme for this famous sculptor.
The little boy is murmuring -probably-.with a subdued voice gentle compliments to a little girl who is listening with open but downcast eyes. The boy's face shows he is trying to be convincing but she does not -yet- smile even if her face is showing interest and pleasure to hear what she is earring.
She is wearing a shift ,hold a bouquet of probably wild flowers in her right arm and has a flowery ribbon around her head when the boy is almost naked. The sculptor clearly wanted us to focus essentially on the children's faces expressions and also on the 2 arms of the boy.
