About the Item

A very stylish example of this charming midcentury Rosenthal porcelain lidded jug modelled as the bust of a young girl by renowned Danish born artist Bjorn Wiinblad (1918-2006). This finely made white porcelain jug has a body of rounded shape modelled as the head of a young girl with pronounced features with a pony tail forming the loop handle. Her bust forms the base with a fine outline of patterned clothing and with further patterning applied to a tall narrow raised poutring spout with a small domed lift out cover similarly patterned. The piece is very finely made and a Rosenthal green printed makers marks to the base. Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market. The jug and cover is offered in excellent original condition with minimal wear. From a collection of Bjorn Wiinblad related items.
