A Derby Porcelain Campana Vase decorated by John Brewer c.1810

About the Item

A large Derby Porcelain Campana Vase decorated by John Brewer c.1810 - Duesbury & Kean period. Each side of the vase finely painted with a roundel, one with a seascape and the other with a river scene & thatched cottage, with 'oeil de perdrix' style jeweling on a cobalt blue ground, with intricately gilded borders. Unmarked. For a vase of the same shape and handles, see colour plate 250, page 252 of Derby Porcelain by Twitchett (2002).  Condition: Generally very good including rams-heads and horns; some re-touching to gilding at neckrim.
