About the Item
These have huge decorative impact. Decorated with "scenes gallant" in the manner of Watteau on a Bleu Celeste ground, with gilt decoration and appllied with rams' head and fruiting vine mount, they powerfully express an aesthetic of richness and exhuberance. The gilt bronze bases support a ring of acanthus into which the porcelain is countersunk.
