Japanese Porcelain Cut-Out Saucer, Imari

About the Item

Japanese porcelain cut-out saucer, Imari. Polychrome decoration with flowers, cobalt blue, rouge de fer and gold. Meiji period (1868-1912). Beautiful saucer, round shape and cut edge, has shiny enamel, which highlights the vibrant colors. The decor is dominated by an Imari color scheme, combining cobalt blue under the glaze with bright shades of rouge de fer and golden touches. In the center, an exuberant floral composition stands out, where an elegant vase is surrounded by flowering branches. The central composition is surrounded by a thin blue frieze, creating a harmonious transition to the edge of the plate, decorated with alternating elements, some with complex geometric patterns, while others feature stylized flowers and leaves. The back of the plate is decorated with cobalt blue details, small arabesques and flowers painted on the base reinforce the beauty of the saucer.
