Excellent Large Art Nouveau Group: Monumental depiction of a pair of lovers in intimate embrace: Unclothed young lady sitting on a pedestal and kissing the naked young man standing behind her. Sparingly painted, only the cloth on which the lady is sitting is decorated with floral patterns in strong colours. On a rectangular base with wavy rounding at the front, artist's signature on the side of the pedestal. Manufactory: Selb / Bavaria / Rosenthal Germany Dating: manufactured 1916 Material and technique: porcelain / chinaware / painted / glossy finish Design: RICHARD AIGNER (1867 - 1934) was a German sculptor; 1886-92 studied at the Munich Academy, since 1921 member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative, around 1911 freelancer for the Rosenthal company.
