Laure Japy is a Parisian decorator known for her contributions to Limoges porcelain in the late 20th century. In 1994, she acquired the historic porcelain factory S.A. Porcelaine Lafarge et Cie in Limoges, which had previously been under the ownership of AXA Assurance. Unfortunately, the factory filed for bankruptcy in 1997.
Despite the factory's closure, Laure Japy's designs have left a lasting impact on the world of porcelain. She is renowned for her elegant and colorful patterns, often featuring fruit and floral motifs. Her collections, such as "Jardin Bleu," "Gourmandise," and "Potager," showcase her distinctive style and are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
Laure Japy's porcelain pieces, produced in collaboration with Limoges artisans, continue to be celebrated for their craftsmanship and artistic flair. Her work exemplifies the fusion of traditional Limoges porcelain techniques with contemporary design sensibilities.
