About the Item

Meissen superb figurine group by Michel Victor Acier (designed circa 1772) Gardener couple with boy. Designer: Michel Victor Acier (born 1736 in Versailles / France - died 1799 in Dresden) Acier was a French sculptor, having studied at Paris. He moved in year 1762 to Meissen Manufactory / he was an important staff member there, having become one of most excellent Kaendler's supporters. Finally, Acier was appointed as Head of Model Department in Dresden by order of King of Saxony. Acier designed this figurine group (Model D 95) circa 1772. Specifications: Gardener figurines group: Gardener couple with boy, gathered around a tree There is a Young Male Gardener who presents a hat filled with flower's blossoms to his female companion. The lovely elegant Rococo man is wearing a wig, a short-sleeved jacket, a vest, a cloth bound to a girdle, knee breeches, stockings and buckled shoes. There is a Young Female Gardener who is making music by playing a string instrument similar to a violin (she turns herself towards the young gardener so that figurines are matching each other in finest manner). The lovely girl is clad in a long dress with corselette and an overskirt. There is a Gardener Boy who holds a flower wreath above woman's head / additionally, he turns towards the gardeners. The boy is wearing a jacket, a skirt, trousers, stockings and buckled shoes. In the middle area there is the tree visible aound which the couple and boy are gathered. The figurines are supported by rocky base decorated with band ornaments at edged area.
