Meissen Figurines by Kändler Punct Schönheit Catch of Triton Cherubs Women, 1935

About the Item

Meissen tall as well as gorgeous figurine group: Catch of Triton / excellently painted & modelled (the details are stunningly sculptured = finest modelling) Design: Johann Joachim Kändler (circa 1765), with collaboration of Christoph Carl Punct = modeller, worked since 1761 on behalf of Meissen manufactory / he became sculptor of court in 1763 / Punct was collaborator of Kändler, too / by the way, the sculptor was specialized on two-figured children's groups Johann Carl Schoenheit = was assistant of Kändler: he has been active at manufactory since 1745 / since the year 1765 he designed own models, but he was assistant of Kaendler, too, in later period colleague of Acier. Schoenheit retired in 1794.   Made circa 1935 Meissen blue sword mark underglaced it is model C 35 former's number existing. First quality Detailed description: Two women - supporting themselves on rocky bases - are busy with catching the triton child having been captured in a net which is drawn by a cherub / large rocky base existing - it is stunningly decorated with various sculptured items (reeds, various shells, a frog, spiny lobster ... many fishes are floundering in net) Measures: Height 33.0 cm (= 12.99 inches) Width of base: 25.0 cm (= 9.84 inches) Total depth: 15.0 cm (= 5.90 inches) Condition: excellent / there aren't any damages existing.
