With blue decoration and open lace work. Foliage in relief. Model number: A160. Late 19th century. Marked. Excellent condition, with wear in the gilding. Dimensions: W 31.5 cm x D 23.5 cm x H 6.0 cm. Meissen porcelain is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory, founded in 1710 in Meissen, Germany. It was the first place in Europe to successfully produce hard-paste porcelain, previously known only from China. The factory became famous for its detailed, hand-painted decorations and Rococo-style figurines. The Meissen mark—two crossed swords—is one of the world’s oldest trademarks and a symbol of high quality and craftsmanship. The factory still operates today, producing exclusive porcelain in both classic and modern designs.
