About the Item

Pair of French Ceramic Moonflask Vases France, circa 1900–1920 A decorative and vibrant pair of early 20th-century French ceramic moonflask vases, dating to circa 1900–1920. Finely hand-painted in a striking palette of turquoise blue, cobalt, yellow, rose, and green, the vases exhibit a bold floral design inspired by cloisonné and faience traditions. Each vase is of flattened globular form with a tall neck, the central cartouche featuring a classical urn issuing stylised blooms, framed by floral garlands and dotted accents. The reverse sides are similarly decorated with large floral medallions and scattered blossoms. The raised black outlines separating the colours are reminiscent of Longwy-style enamelling, though the pieces are unmarked. The vases display a fine craquelure throughout, typical of early 20th-century glazed earthenware. They are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Dimensions (each): Height: 27.5 cm (10.8 in) Width: 22 cm (8.7 in) Depth: 11 cm (4.3 in) A visually compelling and colour-rich pair, suitable for a decorative interior or collectors of French ceramics.
