Pair of Worcester Marbled Plates with Flowers Made in England circa 1810
$3,000per set

About
We are delighted to present this pair of Worcester plates with bright hand-painted flowers set against a dark purple ground in the center of each plate. Made circa 1810 they show freesia, a pink rose, a purple peony, peach colored dahlias, and other flowers. The flowers are framed by a thin border of gilt, and a wide light-grey marbled border and gilded edge. The exquisite flower paintings are worthy of being on canvas - they have a richness and attention to detail that brings them to life. The flowers seem almost to glow as they emerge from the darkness.
We also have available in the same light-grey marbled pattern a group of dishes. See 1stDibs Ref. # LU866511381431. Combine these together and you have an extraordinarily beautiful group.
Dimensions: diameter 8 1/8 inches x height 1 inch.
Condition: Excellent
Price: $3,000 for the pair of plates
Background of Worcester Dishes
