About the Item

Plate, in Chinese porcelain for export. Polychrome decoration with floral motifs, vase with flowers in the center. Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng period (1722-1735). In the center, a vase painted with intricate details in yellow and pastel tones, has a complex and elegant design, reminiscent of ceremonial or decorative vases used in imperial China. The flowers that emerge from the vase, predominantly peonies in shades of pink and white, represent prosperity, wealth and honor. Around the central motif, a wide brownish and golden band creates a luxurious contrast with the white background of the plate. The intricate pattern within the band combines geometric and floral elements, demonstrating the skill of the artisans. Small brown and gold accents form a repeating pattern that adds depth. The edge of the plate is decorated with colorful flowers, harmonizing with the central motif. The flowers, in shades of pink, blue, red and yellow, are arranged symmetrically and connected by delicate green leaves and fine arabesques. The use of a pink stripe with geometric patterns at the end of the border complements the composition, adding a touch of lightness and visual continuity. A combination of traditional Chinese motifs with an aesthetic adapted to Western taste makes this piece not only a decorative object, but also a testament to the cultural and commercial exchange between China and the West in the 18th century.
