Rare Bing & Grondahl Seagull sandwich tray or service platter

About the Item

Rare Bing & Grondahl Seagull sandwich tray or service platter is 15.35" long, 6" wide, and 1.8" high. Relief of scales on the rim is shaded in pale blue with ombre effect with two seagulls painted asymmetrically flying from right side of the tray towards the center; it is decorated without gold trim. The platter is marked with green factory stamps that date back to 1952-1957, decorators' initial, and green number 005 The pattern was created in 1892 and was continuously produced until 2011, well after Bing & Grondahl merged with Royal Copenhagen in 1987. The platter is in great vintage condition with one small factory glaze defect on the rim of the platter; it is invisible, but can be felt by touch.
