Rare Bing & Grondahl Seagull rectangular platter

About the Item

Rare Bing & Grondahl Seagull rectangular platter or oven tray measures 11" long, 6.25" deep, and 0.8" high. Relief of scales on the rim is shaded in pale blue with ombre effect, and two seagulls in flight are painted asymmetrically on right side of the platter; it is decorated without gold trim. The tray has unglazed, bisque bottom, which is usually indicative that the piece can be used in the oven. It is marked with green factory stamps that date back to 1952-1957, decorators' initial, and green number (96). The pattern was created in 1892 and was continuously produced until 2011, well after Bing & Grondahl merged with Royal Copenhagen in 1987. The platter is in excellent vintage condition.
