About the Item

We kindly invite you to read the full description, as we strive to provide detailed historical and technical information to ensure the authenticity of our pieces. Elegant 20-piece porcelain dinner service for six by Richard Ginori, crafted between the 1960s and 1970s by the historic Doccia Manufactory in Florence. The “Galli Rossi” pattern, among the most iconic and sought-after in Ginori’s repertoire, features stylized roosters and floral motifs in a warm rust-red tone. The decorations are applied over finely embossed porcelain with a scalloped edge hand-finished in 24k gold. This refined collection is distinguished by its hard-paste porcelain of exceptional quality and its detailed craftsmanship, combining transferware technique with meticulous hand-painted accents. The sculpted texture, basketweave borders, and rich gold highlights create a play of light and depth that enhances each piece. Every detail reflects Ginori’s artisan tradition and the excellence of mid-century Italian porcelain. First introduced in 1747, the “Galli Rossi” pattern draws inspiration from Eastern aesthetics, depicting two roosters in a combative stance between stylized rocks and a willow tree. Originally painted in iron red and gold on white porcelain, the design has maintained its timeless elegance, enjoying a revival in the 20th century for a more modern yet classically inclined clientele. The backstamp – “Richard Ginori - Manifattura di Doccia Florence Italy” – dates the set between 1965 and 1975, when the company successfully merged its Tuscan decorative legacy with contemporary international taste. This pattern was discontinued in the 1980s, making the set even more desirable for collectors and design enthusiasts. A balanced and visually striking ensemble, perfect for dressing up a classic dining room or adding a refined vintage touch to eclectic interiors. With its warm tones, sculptural profiles, and opulent gold accents, this set is ideal for festive dinners, vintage-inspired décor, or as a standout display in a fine china cabinet. Dinnerware Set – 20 Pieces The set includes: • 6 soup plates (Ø 22 cm, H 4,5 cm) • 6 dinner plates (Ø 27 cm, H 3 cm) • 6 dessert plates (Ø 20 cm, H 2,5 cm) • 1 oval serving platter (L 36 cm, P 26 cm, H 3,5 cm) • 1 round serving platter (Ø 32 cm, H 3 cm) • 1 salad bowl Ø 25 cm, H 10 cm) In excellent condition We use professional packaging (wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) to ensure maximum safety during shipping.
