About the Item

Tea service for six people in the series Barbara, design Giò PONTI for RICHARD GINORI Doccia's Victory. The service consists of nine pieces: > a teapot > a milk jug > a sugar bowl > six cups ORIGIN Italy PERIOD 1930s DESIGNER Gio PONTI (1891-1979) was an influential Italian architect and designer, among the best known on the Italian and world stage. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1921 and began his career by collaborating with various architects and engineers, actively participating in exhibitions and founding the magazine 'Domus'. He received numerous awards for his work in design and architecture, including the Mussolini Prize in 1934. Ponti left a significant imprint on industrial design and architecture, creating such iconic works as the Pirelli Skyscraper in Milan. His legacy includes a vast archive of drawings and plans, which are kept at the Communication Studies and Archives Center in Parma.
