About the Item

This is a hand-painted Mason's ironstone side plate, in the Table and Flower pot gilded pattern, from their earliest George 3rd period, circa 1818. This plate is well painted in the Chinoiserie pattern called the Table and Flower Pot pattern, showing a golden flower vase by a small table with a Swan sitting on a nest of yellow eggs on a pink lake. The pattern is hand enamelled, over-glaze in colors of burnt orange, yellow, brown, blue, green, and pink over an under-glaze printed outline, with gold gilding to one side of the vase. The piece is fully marked to the base with a single line impressed " Masons Patent Ironstone China" mark and a printed crown mark, color washed in green, which date this piece to circa 1818. An image of a similar Mason's drainer plate in this pattern is shown on Page 104 of "A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns", published by the Mason's Collectors' Club.

Wear consistent with age and use. Slight surface wear. All hand enamels and gilding clear and bold. A couple of very small base rim nibbles- probably from stacking. NO other Damage, NO Restoration.

This is a very decorative ironstone pottery Large Dinner Plate produced by the Mason's factory at Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England, circa 1818. The plate is circular with a wavy indented edge & moulded floral detail to the inner rim edge . This is a fine Ironstone pottery Desert Plate made by the Mason's factory at Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England and beautifully decorated in the Small Vase, flower & Rock Pattern, fully stamped and dating to the earliest period of Mason's Ironstone production, circa 1815. This design is one of Mason's very decorative chinoiserie patterns called the Small Vase, Flowers and Rock pattern, with a bamboo stem border and rich hand gilding.
