This is a Karatsu-yaki small plate. Karatsu is a historic pottery located in Saga Prefecture (a large island in the south of Japan). Lustreware, a specialty of Deruta ceramics, epitomizes the ways in which technologies and aesthetics move and persevere through time and space.
