Set of Three Ceramics, Gustave Reynaud, Vallauris 1960/1970

About the Item

Set consisting of a Roller Vase and two lamp bases coming directly from Gustave Reynaud's workshop, "Le Mûrier" (The Mulberry). Reynaud, brother-in-law of Jean Derval, created his workshop in 1955. The decorations are very characteristic, and often the work of Michel Barbier. The drawings in cobalt and copper oxides appear melted under the glaze and the reduction firing at very high temperature creates a crackle effect for a rustic and authentic rendering. The 3 pieces bear the signature of the workshop on the back, either a stylised mulberry leaf executed with a brush, or stamped on the lamp base. 4 stamps appear on this piece which allows it to be dated to the 1970s. Measurements (cm) : the small ballerina : 13.2 h - 8 diam. the vase : 29.5 h - 10.5 diam. The lamp base : 26 h - 22 diam.
