Sheila Casson Studio Pottery Red Salt Glazed Jug, 20th Century

$449.88

About

A stunning vintage British Studio Pottery dish by renowned potter Sheila Casson and made in Ross-on-Wye. This stylish rounded bulbous stoneware jug stands on a narrow rounded foot with loop handle and with a raised deep channeled pouring spout. The jug is salt glazed with a red, slightly textured finish with seal mark to foot rim. Provenance: The Ann Horlock Stringer Collection. Ann was married to Harry Horlock-Stringer (1927-2014), a potter, and both were passionate about Studio Pottery. Much of their collection was purchased from friends and also from the Craftsman Potters' Association ship, exhibitions and galleries.
