1870s Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Salt Spoon

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver salt spoon with equestrian interest; an addition to our diverse flatware collection. This antique Victorian silver salt spoon in sterling standard, has been modeled in an equestrian theme. The impressive bowl is realistically modeled in the form of a jockey Cap, incorporating tooled decoration and an applied button to the reverse surface. This collectible spoon is fitted with a shaped handle reflecting the shape of a riding crop. Condition This antique Victorian silver salt spoon is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cap's brim are all very clear; the maker's mark has wear in keeping with age and location.     A fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver sparrow beak style creamers, boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. These impressive antique Victorian sterling silver cream jugs have a plain baluster sparrow beak style form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of each jug is embellished to one side with two impressive bright cut engraved crests, a stag's head erased and a thistle erect, leaved below the motto ‘Yvery’. The jugs are fitted with opposing scroll handles, each ornamented with a subtle plain thumb piece. These impressive antique cream jugs have sparrow beak style spouts. These cream jugs are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior and push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘William Angus & Sons Silversmiths, 27 & 29 Lord Street, Liverpool’.
