Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Runcible Spoon

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver Fiddle and Shell pattern runcible spoon; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver runcible spoon has been crafted in the Fiddle and Shell pattern. The runcible spoon has four times with a plain rounded drop. The reverse surface of this sterling silver spoon incorporates a rounded heel to the bowl/drop. This exceptional example of antique newcastle silver was crafted by George Hay Gowland & Clement Gowland of Gowland Brothers. Condition This antique runcible spoon in sterling silver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and is in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the spoon are very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.     A fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver sparrow beak style creamers, boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. These impressive antique Victorian sterling silver cream jugs have a plain baluster sparrow beak style form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of each jug is embellished to one side with two impressive bright cut engraved crests, a stag's head erased and a thistle erect, leaved below the motto ‘Yvery’. The jugs are fitted with opposing scroll handles, each ornamented with a subtle plain thumb piece. These impressive antique cream jugs have sparrow beak style spouts. These cream jugs are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior and push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘William Angus & Sons Silversmiths, 27 & 29 Lord Street, Liverpool’.
