Two 1930s Art Deco Dishes in Prince's Plate by Keith Murray for Mappin & Webb

About the Item

These two small dishes from British designer Keith Murray for Mappin & Webb date from the 1930s and exemplify the Art Deco style of the time. With each piece, the stepped conical form of the base is inverted and balanced with the larger dish that sits above it, and the circular lines of the whole are repeated on the interior with concentric rings and ridges. Coated in the high-quality Prince’s Plate for which Mappin & Webb was known, this elegantly minimal pair are quintessential Art Deco.
